Making the doorway brushes
This is a update to the doorway tutorial

To make things a little more clear for those people that are new to map making with Q3Radiant.

The doorway brush is just a caulk brush with a doorway texture applied to the front and back of the brush.
To make a brush with the texture common/caulk on all sides first load the textures in the common folder then select the texture common/caulk by left clicking on it in the texture window.
Then in one of the 2d windows left click and drag out a brush make it any size we will resize it later.
Now that's done hold the ctrl+shift+alt keys and left click on the front and back faces of the brush this will select both sides of the brush. Now go to the gothic/doors texture folder and pick a doorway for this tutorial I used gothic_door/xian_tourneyarch_tall2b left click on this texture in the texture window.
Now you should have a brush that looks something like this .

The texture doesn't fit the brush right now does it.
Lets change that.
First select the brush left click on it in the 3d window.
In one of the 2d side views left click out side of this brush and drag it in to the correct size.

Zoom in on the brush in your 3d window (use the arrow keys and the D key for up and the C key for down the A and Z keys for angle) and watch it as you resize so you will know were to stop.
By changing the brush size with out moving the brush we have saved a lot of texture alignment problems later on.
If you did move the brush I would delete it and start a new one.

Now that we have the texture on a brush and it is sized to the right size lets start cutting this brush up.
This is were you could use the clipping tool, but I found when you are first doing doorways the copy and paste of new brushes is easier to grasp.
To copy this brush you could hit the space bar while the brush is selected but this will make a copy and move the new brush so its not in the same space as the original.
To solve this problem we will select the doorway brush (Shift left click) then hit the ctrl+C to copy brush and ctrl+V to paste the new copy will be in the same space as the first one.

Now move the copied brush by resizing left click out side of this brush and drag it so it is the size of the top of the doorway and the middle of this brush texture is at the  top middle part of the doorway black part.

Now unselect that brush and select the first brush now resize that one so it is just below the copied brush.

Lets keep going with this brush still selected make a copy of the brush (ctrl+C) and paste it in (ctrl+V)
And then resize these brushes so they look like this.

Zoom in on your 3d view  make the edge of these brushes stop right before they turn black .
Now hit the esc key to unselect brushes.
Next hit the paste key crtl+V this will paste in a new brush resize it to fill in the middle part.

Now with this middle brush still selected copy it (ctrl+C) and paste it back in (ctrl+V)
And then resize the brushes to look like this.

Notice the top brush stops right at the top of the angle part of the doorway trim on the texture.

No all we have left is to split these two brushes in half and the bottom ones we have to edge edit to the correct size.
This part is covered in the main Tutorial on doorways.
