Bevel Trim

So you want to add trim to a bevel.
Something like this.

The first thing you should do is build the brushes.
You could build them all separately or just clip the brush into four new brushes. It should look something like this.

In the pic above, notice brushes 3 and 4 have been selected. This is where we are going to add the bevels and their caps, and then later the trim meshes.

Next select one of the brushes.
Go to the curve menu and select the bevel command as in this pic.

Move the bevel so it's in the right spot.
Turn your grid size down to 2 and hit the vertex key (V key). If you don't have snap-to-grid on, hit ctrl+G. This will snap the vertex point to the grid.

Now let's move on. Select one of the finished bevels and and cap it like this.

Repeat the snap to grid as you just did.
Also, delete the cap on the bottom side of walkway if you don't need it.
After you are done, it should look like this.

There, the end is done. But wait - you wanted trim on the edge.
Let's do that now.
Select one of the edge bevels like this.

Now go to the curve menu and pick the thicken command like this.

A little window will pop up that looks like this.

For this trim I have entered -16 and checked the seams box.
This will give me a set of 6 meshes and should look like this.

If necessary, invert the meshes (ctrl + I ) and next delete the meshes that are not needed.
This would included the little end-meshes, the bottom mesh and the inner bevel that we started with.
After that's done, select the top mesh, repeat the turn in vertex mode, snap to grid, and move the vertex points as necessary. This is often the case because the thicken command does not align meshes properly to the grid.

Now select the outside bevel and repeat the snap to grid as you just did.

Now you have one side done, repeat it for the other side.

Done? Now the only thing I didn't talk about was the texturing of the meshes.
If you having trouble with that then you should go back to the start of these mesh tutorial pages and reread them.
