- Very easy to use Win32 interface.
- No re-naming or re-location of files needed - store your hard drive how you want!
- Profiles feature - come back and create a similar pk3 in even less time!
- Supports all extentions, with slots for 50 shaders, 100 sounds, and 150 textures!
- Determine compression degree for testing or final release with easy slider!
- Estimates download time and compressed file size.

Fixed door prefab.
The door prefab that I built along time ago needed to be rebuilt because it caused those dam sparkles... It's  fixed now go to prefab section here.

New Sound Pk3. From Death2Uall
Death2Uall has released some cool sound pk3.

Gothic Pak 1 4.9megs

Contents: 19 wavs. Some are repeated but different by pitch or reversed. Sounds include demonic growls, weird gongs, ominous thunders, a creaking door and assorted hellish type groans.

Industrial-Tech_pak1.zip 1.93megs

Contents: 20 wavs. A couple of computer beeps, loopable background sounds (engines and the like), loopable hissing sounds like you might hear in a boiler room (steam pipes hissing), a running engine sound and the sound of that engine being shut off, gears and a couple of explosions thrown in just for the hell of it.

Nature_pak1.zip 1.85megs

Contents: 10 wavs. Crickets, evening outdoor ambience, three water dripping sounds (like in a cavern), small waterfalls, a small creek and a big ocean surf wav (couldn't cut it down much and still make it loop right, sorry about the file size).

storm_pack.zip 2.2megs this one is a repost

Now stop releasing silent maps!

Quakecon Model map News.
As many of you may know there is no read me in the Pk3, this bugged me so I asked Paul Jaquays what's up with that and is there going to be one.
This is his response:

Bill:

I would wait to put those models into maps. Several of the artists are reworking their models based on the judges recommendations. Those are the models that we will distribute. They will have their own readme files with all the appropriate info. I just got a revised version of Mino in today, and the skin is even more incredible than before.

New Q3A Models Very cool....
Paul Jaquays has built a gallery to showcase the Quakecon model-contest entries. The 9.5 MB .pk3 is available on the main page of www.quakecon.org

Q3Radiant202 ready to download....
Go to http://www.qeradiant.com for download links.
Heres the change log:

MrElusive:
-q3map 1.0p
-Tool options.txt (q3map command-line doc)

G_Dewan:
-added functions to the GL interface for PrtView
GL plugins now get the camera position information

TTimo:
-fixed sound and model assignment. project files are supposed to be written with
short path names. If it's not it might break. Added fixes in sound and model
assignement to go around the problem. Too late before next release to try
adding automatic clamping to short path name of the project file.
-high color is always on, it's a remnant from Q2
-some fixes to find the default project file and interpret it when it's a template
-proper error handling in the JPEG library, no longer crashes on progressive jpegs
-added a "shaderlist.txt only" option to the texture menu, will display only the
.shader files listed in shaderlist. Workaround for the 127 texture count limit.
(saved with prefs)
-when building texture menu, Radiant will dump in the console the list of .shader files
that are not referenced in shaderlist.txt
-texture menu shows .shader files that don't have an associated texture directory
-storing "don't select curves" and "don't select models" from the toolbar in the registry
-alpha channel: some buggy textures have a nearly empty alpha channel and they might be
invisible if used in a shader script with qer_trans. Will now show up blank-transparent.
Best is to fix the alpha channel of the texture by saving it as 24bits instead.
Or disable alpha channel support in the prefs (added a new checkbox)
WARNING: disabling alpha channel might break curry on some shaders
about the WARNING: .. has empty alpha message:
this means Radiant detected on these buggy textures, alpha channel will be completely ignored
-speed improvements: added hash tables, improves map load (Map_BuildBrushData) and
texture find/replace. More or less evolves in log n with size of the map instead of previous n^2
-fixed some notepad spawning crashes + will be better at finding shader definitions
-added "HOME" keyword when parsing user prefs keyboard shortcuts for HOME key (heh)
-fixed duplicate HideSelected command in the Help > Command list, added proper ShowHidden to the command list
-fixed a crash when max texture directories reached (currently 127)
-added a log file, turned on/off from prefs (default is off)
automatically turned on after a startup crash (Radiant.pid)

3D Studio gMAX on it's way        (Very cool)
Looks like Discreet is creating a new modeler for us and it happens to come with the ever popular price tag of $0.00. The product is called gMAX and it appears to be a mini-me of the next release of 3D Studio MAX. Sweeeet! Here is a clip from the press release...

Discreet Announces New Platform for Game Development Community

3d studio max Architecture to Be Available to Consumer Content Creation Communities as Foundation
Tool for Creating Game Content

SIGGRAPH – New Orleans, LA – July 25, 2000 – Discreet, a division of Autodesk Inc., today announced
that it plans to release a powerful subset of its industry-leading 3d studio max
® authoring tool to game players for no charge on the web. The new product, code-named 3d studio gMAX and based on the
upcoming key release of 3d studio max, will serve as an extensible content creation platform for
professional and consumer use. Discreet ™ plans to license development rights for 3d studio gMAX to
qualified game developers on a per title basis. This initiative is aimed at servicing the rapidly-growing
consumer content creation communities that have grown up on the web around franchise game series such
as id Software’s Quake and Microsoft ® Flight Simulator.

“As the leader in the 3D games tool space, Discreet has a clear appreciation of the value consumer
communities bring to the games they extend,” says Phillip Miller, senior director of Discreet software
products. “We also know that many of our largest game development customers use 3d studio max as the
content editing foundation for their games – linking it directly to their game engine with custom plug-ins and
user-interfaces. With gMAX, we intend to further accelerate game development by releasing an extensible
product that can not only be used to build the game itself, but can then be shipped with the title for use by
the creative gamer community.”

Thanks Polycount

I used to post news about Q3A all the time well I'm not doing that anymore, sure once in a while. There are many sites that do that already.

This site will be for what ever game or hobby that I want to post here.
Right now that's Q3A and Q3A map making and Graphic's that I make for Q3A.

There is no message board right now and don't know if I will add one.
I will add a search thingy soon, all the pages have been uploaded but some of the links might not work. If you find one please email me Bill Brooks .
