Feel the Tech1 Map model Love
I have updated my map model index with the 12 more map models made

Slow on updates...
I know I have been slow on updating site I have been busy playing a old game that I have called Battlezone2, and also working again full time.
I do have some more things planed but don't want to let the cat out of the bag to soon....

Two new map models.

Website is working again.
I have been having some trouble with frontpage2000 and my navigation structure. It took many days and allot of guessing and some trial and error to get it working again. So now expect some more updates soon..

Long time no update, Computer crashed.
I have been without a computer for over two weeks.
My old and slow one finally died , out with the Celerion 500 and in with the new Althon 1.8  new 19 inch monitor cd-burner, dvd, ddr, ram and so on gaming machine.
Needless to say with my new system Quake 3 and team arena and many other game play very fast and extra pretty....
On a side note don't forget to make backups of you maps to a media off your computer, I forgot too and lost two weeks of work in the crash. Yes it took the hard drive with it... Good thing I had most of my work on the other drive..
I have a couple reviews or hardware coming. Both from Everglide, one a new mouse pad and the other a cool light. I need to test them a little longer before I make my review...

Evil Prototype Textures

New id Q3A 1.31 Released!
id Software's Christian Antkow sends word that a new version of Quake III Arena has been released, taking users from version 1.30 up to 1.31. The Windows version may be downloaded using the in-game Q3A AutoUpdater, or from the following location:

Q3A Banner models.
By QkennyQ   He has done it again this time making the two banner models that were never released they use the textures from your Q3A cd. So the download is a tinny 7.4kb. All mappers should grab these along with many of the other models.

MapCenter Texture challenge one Done.

From the challenge comes mapcent_crate.pk3, a Quake 3 Arena pak file containing 105 textures from 22 artists, shader scripts for several of the textures and mapcent_crate.bsp, a map that displays the crates.

The rules for texture challenge number two have been posted on the MapCenter forums. The challenge officially kicks off on November 23rd, and ends on December 7th, 2001, but artists are encouraged to start early. This time the artists are challenged to make flag and banner textures.

CTF Baph Models !!!!!!

Description: This is the ctf versions of the Baph model.
You will need to have Q3A as the model has only the mesh not the texture. This is included in your Q3A cd. Do not include the texture in your pk3. You  will need to include the ctf effect texture..

New version of Q3ME available.
Nothing big changed, just some small things and some compatibility issues with gtkrad 1.1.1 is fixed.

Here's the change log:

* Fixed support for compiling a map in a mod dir, there's two ways depending wich version of the tools being used. Defaults to GTKRadiant 1.1.1 way. Switch this option off if you use an older version of q3/gtkrad. (View->Using GTKRadiant 1.1.1 or later)
! Devmap button are now disabled when a bsp file is not found for the selected file.
+ New dialog; "standard switches when running quake3", where you can either add pre-defined switches or just type in the edit control.

! Changed "enable bots" on the quake3 tab to "disable bots". Changed on request.
+ Q3ME caused Q3Map to crash occasionally in the latest version of GTKRadiant because the new compiler tools where not backwards compatible. Fixed.

Map Center Has Moved
I noticed that Paul Jaquays' .plan today notes that Level Editing site "Map Center" has moved to the following location: http://mapcenter.digitalarenas.com/. The website was moved off the Telefragged network.
Paul also makes note that if you were participating in the Texture Challenge at Map Center that it is still a go, and that depending on the time it takes to get the forums back up and running the deadline may even require being extended.

Another Light Model (updated same day)
Mikael AKA Maverik has done it again with a new model of a lamp on  a pole. This one has three round lights on arched supports off a central pole.
Updated the model the same say so if you downloaded it before 2.30pm central time download it again the new updated one is much better lookin and less polys .

Gmax is out the door
If you're into modeling for Quake III Arena then the software you're been lusting over is finally out. Gmax is the free version of 3D Studio Max. And if that's not enough, it also comes with the gmax tempest set of plug-ins that will allow you to create Quake III levels and player models and map models all within this professional tool. The program is about 20MB in size and also has the textures and some tutorials to go along with it.

New GtkRadiant build released
There is a new release of GtkRadiant out. This brings the Q3A editing software to build 1.1.1. RC2. This is out in both Windows and Linux flavors. Looks like the crew took all of the "nightly releases" and combined them into one stable release. Here is the change list.

Feel the Map Model love.
I have just finished adding all the unreleased Models from the QuakeCon 2000 Map model contest.
There is only one I didn't add the tree of woe as it is really a poor model and didn't think anybody would want it. If I get enough email for it I will add it.
Anyway I dare to say that this site has the most complete list of Q3 Map Models that can be found on the net. I also know that I have several of them that can't be found else were.

There are 12 pages with a total of 89+ models!!!!!!!
