Working With Skies

Pretty much every level needs one and I'll show you how to use them.

Firstly you need to have the area where the sky will be and then load up the skies texture set.

Find the texture called toxicskytim_dm3 and draw out the brush where the sky will be, don't worry about the sky texture looking the way it does in the editor, it won't look like that in the game.

This sky texture has it's shader information set so it'll will emit some light and it also has a sun value set so it will create some neat shadows

As you can see from this shot the sun is lighting up some of the walls but not the others.

Some of the sky textures are broke!, a few don't move so you won't get a realistic effect and some of them don't even show up :)

The best thing for you to do is to try each one out until you find one that suits your level best.
