Space
Tut
This is a simple tut
but many people have asked for it.
I think you know how to make a big box and put the
texture skies/blacksky on all inside faces.
Now comes the part where you may need
help we are going to add a trigger multiple brush under
the lowest platform then link it to a target speaker.
First make a brush the same size as
the inside floor brush (the bottom brush in your map).
Now open the common textures and select the trigger
texture.
Notice the brush is colored with the texture trigger.
Now right click on that brush then select trigger multiple.
Move this brush so its just under the lowest
platform then unselect that brush. Now right click in 2d
view then choose target then speaker. Now hit the N key
to bring up entity window

Notice the activator is checked also you have to add key
noise then value *falling1.wav
Now unselect the target speaker then
select the trigger multiple brush then the target
speaker then hit the crtl-k to link the two.
Its should look something like this

Now when you fall off you will scream....
Now onto the next brush needed.
Make another brush with the trigger texture on it. Make
it trigger multiple also. Put this brush below the last
one.
Now unselect it then right click again on 2d window and
then target then remove power ups.

Now unselect that entity then select the trigger brush
that you just made then select the remove power ups entity now
ctrl-k to link the two.
It should look like this.

This will remove any power ups that the player might
have.
You need this if you want to kill them fast in the next
brush.
The next brush build another trigger
brush. Below the last one this time right click on that
brush and then trigger then hurt.
Now open the entity box (N) key

Add the key dmg then the Value 9999
Now when you hit this brush you will die fast.
Now onto the last brush a nodrop brush this will remove
any weapons from the bottom of the skybox.
If we didn't do this then there would be a bunch of them
sitting down then eating up r-speeds and looking stupid.
So add a new brush at the bottom of the skybox then
texture it with the nodrop texture.
It should look like this.

There you are done making the brush's needed to make it
work like a good space map.
Good luck on your space map......
How about a shameless plug to my first space map that I
released SpaceZone1
